Giv’er with a buddy – Blue Nose launches Marathon Team Relay
Halifax, NS – If there’s one thing we Nova Scotians love, it’s tackling a challenge and having a rollicking good time with a group of our friends. With that in mind, the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon announces the Heritage Gas Marathon Team Relay, on Sunday, May 17, 2015.
“This is a perfect addition to Blue Nose. We’ve built it for fun and friendly competition,” said Rod McCulloch, Blue Nose co-chair.
Teams can have between four and eight walkers and runners, and there are eight legs ranging from 3.4KM to 8KM, allowing for various fitness levels and interests.
“This is a team-building opportunity for companies, co-workers, families or friends – any group looking for a memorable shared experience,” said McCulloch. “We’ve even designated a gathering spot near the end that allows members to cross the Finish Line and receive their medals as a team.”
“We’re delighted to welcome Heritage Gas as the title sponsor of the team relay. They are a growing presence in the community, and it’s great to see their support of events that improve the health and wellness of Nova Scotians,” said McCulloch.
Now in its 12th year, Blue Nose Marathon takes place on Victoria Day weekend, May 15-17, 2015. The Heritage Gas Marathon Team Relay adds to a full weekend of events that includes 5KM, 10KM, Youth Run, Half and Full Marathons, as well as the Active Living Expo and Scotiabank Charity Challenge.
