DARTMOUTH, NS – Heritage Gas Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Smith to the role of president, effective immediately.
Since joining the company in 2004, Smith has been part of the senior leadership team holding the roles of Vice President, Finance and Business Services, and most recently Vice President, Business Development. Smith has been a key member of the company’s senior leadership group.
“For more than a decade, I have been privileged to work as part of a great team of professionals committed to bringing natural gas to more customers in their homes, businesses and public facilities,” said Smith. “As president, I will continue to drive the growth plan that was developed with several of my predecessors.”
Smith’s professional experience spans more than 25 years. After graduating from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1988, Smith earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 1990.
After nearly two years of service with Heritage Gas, Bill Swan is leaving to pursue new opportunities. Under Swan’s leadership, Heritage Gas expanded its operations to include Pictou County and began supplying gas to major customers such as Northern Resources and Michelin Canada’s Granton plant in early 2014.
“I would like to acknowledge Bill Swan’s contributions to the company. His vast industry experience was an asset to Heritage Gas,” added Smith. “We wish him well as he starts a new chapter in his career.”
