Customer Retention Program – NSUARB Decision:
Effective September 8, 2016 Heritage Gas is pleased to announce the NSUARB has granted approval for the following:
- To reduce the Base Energy Charge (BEC) from $8.685/GJ to $3.10/GJ for all Rate Class 1 Commercial Customers whose annual consumption is between 500 – 4,999 GJs/year.
- To reduce the Base Energy Charge (BEC) for Rate Class 1 Residential and Small Commercial customers whose annual consumption is less than 500 GJs/year by $0.50/GJ from $8.685/GJ to $8.185/GJ for bills issued between November 1, 2016 and April 30, 2017, and from November 1, 2017 to April 30, 2018.

Customer Retention Program – Application:
Heritage Gas’ requests in this Application address the significant competitive pressures from alternative energy sources in the current marketplace, which has led to a material loss of Heritage Gas’ customers. The requests in the Application will enable the company to retain existing customers on its natural gas distribution system and to stay competitive in the marketplace, which is in the best long-term interests of all of Heritage Gas’ customers and potential future customers.

Inter-Affiliate Code of Conduct
We are responsible for ensuring compliance with the Inter-Affiliate Code of Conduct, which was approved by the NSUARB on October 11, 2012. The Code of Conduct sets out the standards and conditions for any interaction between Heritage Gas and our affiliates (e.g. our parent, AltaGas Ltd.). General Tariff Application – 2011
We are committed to delivering natural gas to our customers at a competitive price. To that end, we are pleased to say that we have not increased our distribution rates since 2014. Our most recent General Tariff Application was approved by the NSUARB in 2011.
