How to Get Natural Gas

You’re ready to enjoy the benefits of natural gas …. Now what?

1. Contact Heritage Gas. A representative will be happy to discuss your natural gas requirements and arrange for a Heritage Gas Authorized Network Member to tailor a natural gas equipment and installation quote to meets your needs.
   
   
2. Sign a Distribution Service Agreement. Heritage Gas will ask you to sign a Service Agreement to confirm that you agree to the details of your natural gas service and that you will begin using natural gas within four months of gas being available. We will consult with you on the location of your natural gas line and meter to minimize the affect on your yard and landscaping. When you sign the Service Agreement you are also agreeing to the Natural Gas Sales & Distribution Service Rules which govern how we serve you and how you take service from us.
    
   
3. Get Ready for Natural Gas. As it gets closer to the time for installation of your natural gas line, a Heritage Gas representative will stake the route in your yard to where your natural gas meter will be installed. Other underground utilities (power lines, telephone, TV/cable, water and sewer lines.) will be identified prior to natural gas installations. Underground facilities such as septic tanks, water lines, and secondary electrical will need to be identified by the home or business owner.
    
   
4. Service Line Installation. After staking is complete, you can expect installation of your natural gas line within 20 working days. This time will allow Heritage Gas to obtain all required permits and approvals for the underground installation. After we install your natural gas line, we will backfill the trench so that restoration of your landscaping can take place.
    
   
5. Natural Gas Equipment Installation. The contractor you selected will complete all of the natural gas piping beyond the natural gas meter in your home or business. They will install the equipment you have chosen and arrange an appointment with a Heritage Gas Technician to install and activate your natural gas meter.
    
   
6. Now you can enjoy all the benefits of Natural Gas!
